KCMG primed for WEC challenge in Silverstone

KCMG travels to the United Kingdom to compete in the opening event of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship on April 13-14. The leading Hong Kong-based motorsport team is all set as it takes on Silverstone Circuit’s 5.90km Arena Grand Prix Circuit against 34 competitors from across the globe.

The team’s blue and white liveried Morgan-Nissan LMP2 will be driven by Alexandre Imperatore, Matt Howson and Ka To Jim in the 6 Hours of Silverstone. The diversely strong driver line-up will be supported by a proficient pit crew headed by team Manager Jonathan Bartlett.

The team’s maiden outing in Silverstone will serve as a test session for the Le Mans 24. As the team gears up for the oldest and most prestigious sports car endurance race in June, the 6 Hours of Silverstone provides the team with a proper venue to practice on a technical plane and measure each driver’s endurance limit in a real race situation.

KCMG Managing Director Paul Ip is looking forward to witness the realization of one of the goals that he has set for his team this upcoming weekend. Since KCMG’s inception in 2007, Ip has envisioned for the team to expand in further regions outside Asia. “I had this objective of seeing KCMG take part in various motorsport disciplines throughout the world. We have made our mark in Asian motorsport and now, it feels amazing to be part of something big and significant in Europe. I believe that this is just the beginning of more milestones for the team and we have worked long and hard for this goal to be realized. I’m both happy and proud of what we have accomplished here so far. We are all excited and looking forward to the first WEC event this weekend and we extend our gratitude to everyone who has supported us along the way!
