KCMG and Motul agree technical partnership for 24 Hours of Le Mans

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) announces its technical partnership with French oil company Motul in its latest campaign in sports car endurance racing. Motul and the Hong Kong-based motorsport team’s collaborative effort will be enforced in the biggest motorsport platforms, namely the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Asian Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship.

Motul will provide its high performance lubricants for the team’s LMP2 Morgan-Nissan prototype, as the team competes in these highly-competitive sport car endurance championships throughout the year. Known for improving the reliability and performance of engines for motorsport applications, the global oil specialists have developed their products and are the pioneers in the industry of motor lubricants. Motul has been recognized as the leading technical partner of various teams from different motorsport disciplines around the world.

KCMG recently made an impressive debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Silverstone Circuit last April. Represented by Alexandre Imperatori, Matthew Howson and KaTo Jim, the team successfully claimed 6th position in the LMP2 category during the 6 Hours of Silverstone.

Following that successful run in the United Kingdom, the team is currently preparing for the classic sports car endurance race at the historic Circuit de la Sarthe in June. The 81st edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be the biggest challenge that will put KCMG’s LMP2 to a grueling test. Notably, the race will challenge both driver and the car’s fused ability to outlast its competitors from other distinguished marques from across the globe.

The Morgan-Nissan prototype which will run for hours end on the Le Mans circuit will require maximum technical efficiency which only Motul can expertly provide. KCMG Managing Director Paul Ip recognizes that the collaboration between KCMG and Motul will aid the team in achieving their goal in Le Mans.

In line with this,KCMG has also confirmed its entry in the prestigious Asian Le Mans Series this season. Together with Motul, the team is looking forward to the much anticipated re-launching of the Asian championship at Inje Autopia on August 4, 2013. Asian Le Mans organizer, Automobile Club de l’Ouest has released a four-race calendar, highlighting events which will be staged in South Korea, China, Japan, and Indonesia.
