KCMG set for WEC challenge in Fuji

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) returns to the scenic foothills of Mount Fuji for the highly anticipated sixth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Motorsport enthusiasts’ from all over the world will shift their gaze to Japan as the 6 Hours of Fuji takes place at the legendary Fuji Speedway this weekend.

Lauded as one of the most celebrated events in the WEC calendar, the 6 Hours of Fuji will highlight world-class teams battling in one of the most competitive disciplines of motor racing in Japan’s renown 4.563km track.

KCMG Super Formula driver Richard Bradley will join Hiroshi Koizumi and former Formula Nippon champion Tsugio Matsuda in KCMG’s latest WEC event. Bradley and Koizumi have recently teamed up to represent the international motorsport group in Asian Le Mans’ second event in September. Notably, along with British driver James Winslow, they rounded off the 3 Hours of Fuji on top of the podium.

KCMG’s debut in Le Mans Prototype racing has yielded impressive results in Europe and Asia this season. With the forthcoming WEC event in Japan, the team is looking forward to a strong showing at Fuji Speedway – undoubtedly, a venue that has been KCMG’s stomping ground since 2007.

Richard Bradley, KCMG WEC/Super Formula Driver: “The last time I drove this car at this tracck we were able to win. I’m feeling confident for this race and I’m very happy to be teaming up with Tsugio and Hiroshi. Having spent nearly 3 years racing in Japan and making many good friends, it will almost be like a home race for me. I hope our fans will be out in full force to help us repeat our Asian Le Mans series success.”

Hiroshi Koizumi, KCMG WEC Driver: “After an amazing Asian Le Mans experience and win at Fuji in September, I am very excited to be working again with KCMG and to compete in the 6 Hours of Fuji with Richard and Tsugio. The competition will be tight but I am confident that we’ll deliver strong results this weekend.”

Tsugio Matsuda, KCMG WEC Driver: “I’m delighted to be racing in the 6 Hours of Fuji this weekend with KCMG. More so, competing in the World Endurance Championship on this circuit that I consider my home track makes it all the more special. Altogether, this will be an amazing experience for me. I would like to thank our supporters in advance and we are looking forward to seeing you all this weekend.”
