KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) enjoyed a positive outing over the weekend as Yuichi Nakayama finished in ninth place during Super Formula’s third event at Fuji Speedway. The Japanese driver’s performance was underlined by impressive overtaking skills in the safety car riddled 55-lap race.

Despite an unsatisfying qualifying session last Saturday, the #18 Toyota-powered Dallara SF14 bounced back and displayed competitive pace during the final warm up and race. From 15th place on the starting grid, Nakayama steadily climbed the leaderboard – weaving through traffic and progressed lap after lap on Fuji’s 4.563km track. Nakayama’s efforts were not in vain as he completed the dramatic race in the top ten.

KCMG also took part in Super Formula’s official test the following day and saw the Japanese driver post his fastest time of 1’25.318, impressively rounding off the session in seventh place.

Yuichi Nakayama: “Overall, it was a good outing and we’ve once again shown that the car is competitive. The team did an amazing job throughout the weekend and we’re already working ahead of the next event to ensure that we finish with better results. Thank you to everyone who came down to watch and supported us at Fuji.”
