KCMG travels to the majestic Eifel mountains as FIA World Endurance Championship resumes following a drawn-out interval after Le Mans. The highly anticipated 6 Hours of Nurburgring, the fourth event of the world championship, is set to take place on July 24.

Kicking off the second half of WEC’s 2016 season, the 6 Hours of Nurburgring highlights a full grid of 33 cars, with five GTE Am cars battling for victory on Nurburg’s legendary 5.148km track. The event will be the home race for both Wolf Henzler and Christian Ried who, together with Swiss pilot Joel Camathias, share driving duties in the Porsche 911 RSR of the KCMG squad. The #78 Porsche currently lie in 6th position in the standings of the LMGTE Am category.

After promising performances and positive results at Silverstone, Spa and at an eventful 24 Hours of Le Mans, the trio is hoping for a trouble-free weekend that would allow them to fully express the potential of the package and aim at a podium finish. Notably, KCMG won at the unforgiving Nurburg circuit with their #47 ORECA 05 last year with Richard Bradley, Matt Howson and Nick Tandy. The Hong Kong-based outfit is looking to repeat the same success with their GTE Am team this season.

Chris Reid: “I’m happy of the relationship that we’ve established with KCMG. We are doing a good job together and I’m proud to represent their colours in the WEC. The past three events have been most promising and now we are looking forward to better results in our home race.”

Joel Camathias: “It has certainly been a good start of the season for us. We have finished the three races so far, collected good points and proved very competitive. However, we still haven’t had the opportunity to visit the podium. I hope we are done with bad luck and that we can do it at the Nürburgring, because we have proven that we deserve it and it would be a nice reward for the great work done by the entire KCMG team.”

Wolf Henzler: ”I’m proud of driving with KCMG and sharing the car with such good co-drivers as Chris and Joel. Thanks to the team and Porsche, at Le Mans we lead a good quarter of the race. Now we look forward to the home race at Nurburgring.”
