TEAM KCMG READY TO TAKE ON 2022 SUPER FORMULA SEASON WITH KIDS COM AS NEW TITLE SPONSOR

Team KCMG is proud to announce a new partnership with Kids Com, that sees the childcare organisation become the squad’s title sponsor for the 2022 Super Formula season.

The Hong Kong-based team will enter Japan’s premier single-seater category for the 13th consecutive season in 2022, with ex-F1 star Kamui Kobayashi and 2016 Super Formula champion Yuji Kunimoto as drivers.

Their Toyota-powered cars will also feature a striking new green and yellow livery, recently unveiled at Suzuka on the circuit’s ‘60th Anniversary Fan Appreciation Day’, reflecting the colours of Kids Com’s branding.

KCMG will continue to partner for a fifth season with Pioneer Sales Co Ltd, which develops ‘carrozzeria’ car stereos in Japan. Achievement Co Ltd also remains a sponsor, extending the relationship that began in 2009.

The first pre-season test began today at Suzuka, with two more days of testing scheduled for 23-24 March at Fuji Speedway. The 2022 campaign begins at the same venue with a double-header on 9-10 April.

Satoru Nishiyama, Kids Com: “Kids Com exists to care for and provide children with a great childhood, helping them to grow up and be ready to be independent. We also love to have parents involved, creating an environment for families to connect. Motor racing is an extremely tough sport as it involves advanced skills and teamwork, so we want to help raise the profile of the sport and get more people involved. Especially in Japan, it is hard for children to get into racing, so we also aim to increase opportunities for young people. We look forward to seeing KCMG race this year and wish them all the best for the coming season.”

Ryuji Doi, KCMG Head of Motorsport: “We are delighted to be returning to Super Formula for our 13th season in Japan’s top single-seater series, this year with a brand-new title sponsor and livery. It’s amazing to have Kids Com on board for the 2022 season and we’re very grateful for their support. Thanks to the pandemic we’ve not been able to have full capacity crowds at events in the last two years, but this season we’ll be inviting children and families to the races through Kids Com, so they can experience motor racing first-hand and enjoy an amazing day. We’ve been working hard over the off-season to ensure we are fighting at the front and challenging for strong results with Kamui and Yuji.”
