PABLO SARRAZIN LEADING STELLANTIS MOTORSPORT RALLY CUP FRANCE AFTER STRONG RALLYE RHÔNE-CHARBONNIÈRES SHOWING

KCMG Driver Development Project (KCMG-DDP) member Pablo Sarrazin put in another strong performance in Round 2 of the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France during the Rallye Rhône-Charbonnières, picking up a fourth-placed finish and taking the championship lead.

Following a podium finish in the season opener at Rallye du Touquet, Sarrazin and co-driver Geoffrey Combe were in a confident mood ahead of the event.

Competing in the #47 Peugeot 208 Rally4, the duo was in contention for victory, before a puncture dropped them back. They were able to recover to finish fourth, an impressive result in the difficult Rallye Rhône-Charbonnières.

Next up in the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France is the gravel Rallye Terre d’Aléria on 24-26 May, the first of two events this season to be staged on the surface. Sarrazin and Combe have enjoyed success on gravel recently, taking victory at Rallye de Causses earlier this month.

PABLO SARRAZIN

I’m really happy with this result, unfortunately a puncture cost us a podium finish, but we scored some big points and took the lead in the championship. Geoffrey and I are going to work hard in the coming months to stay at the top, but we have a long way to go and it’s important to perform well at each rally. Thanks to the team for preparing the car, it felt great to drive and also a big thanks to KCMG for their amazing support!”

GEOFFREY COMBE CO-DRIVER

“We had a positive start to the rally and were going well in second place, but unfortunately on Stage 8 we suffered a puncture early on. We gave out best to get back up the order and manage to take P4, which was a strong result, as the Rallye Rhône-Charbonnières is a tough one to master on first visit! We’re leading the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France, so we’ll continue to work hard to keep up the pace.”

PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER

We’ve been impressed with Pablo’s pace all year, and he was really strong again this weekend. The level of performance was excellent considering its his first time at this rally, and P4 was a good finish. It could’ve been even better without the puncture, but Pablo and Geoffrey are now leading the championship, so we are very happy with the result. They are performing well as a team, and quickly recovered from the setback to score as many points as possible, while continuing to gain experience together. We’re looking forward to the Rallye Terre d’Aléria next month, the first of the season on gravel!”
