SGC by KCMG culminates Formula Nippon campaign in Fuji

SGC by KCMG brought the curtain down on its 2012 Formula Nippon campaign in Fuji Speedway last weekend.  The team, represented by Ryo Orime, competed in the annual Fuji Sprint Cup- the premier Japanese series’ non-title round which yearly concludes the series season since 2010.

The race was held during the highly lauded JAF Grand Prix, a 3-day event encompassing different racing categories in Japan, and was attended by more than 70,000 motorsport enthusiasts from all over the region.

Grid positions for the Fuji Sprint Cup were determined by each driver’s lap time during a one-lap qualifying run. Orime’s single lap shootout in wet conditions made qualifying more challenging, but this did not debilitate the Japanese racer. During Sunday’s race, Orime finished 16th place, officially capping SGC by KCMG’s progress-centric 2012 campaign.

KCMG Japan General Manager Ryuji Doi is grateful as he wraps up the season with the team. He is retrospective but most of all, he is looking forward to the team’s new initiatives and goals for next season. “Formula Nippon finally concluded last weekend through the Fuji Sprint Cup and I’m glad that Ryo and the team had the opportunity to be part of this event. This season has given us a lot of lessons development-wise and the team is eager to build on and progress from all these. Our work does not stop here and we already have testing lined up in preparation for next year’s campaign. As this season ends, things will get more hectic for the team.
