After claiming three straight victories at Sepang International Circuit in September, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG is looking forward to Formula Masters title deciding round in China from October 24-27. The international motorsport group will have a four-car line up in the Asian series’ sixth round, which will be part of the Sports Car Champions Festival at Shanghai International Circuit.

Akash Nandy, who currently sits third on the championship’s leader board, will lead the team in its assault to claim the Formula Masters crown. With 55 points on offer and just 21 points behind series leader Aidan Wright, the Malaysian driver is set to challenge for the title over what will be three intense rounds of motor racing this weekend.

British driver Dan Wells, who has raced alongside Nandy in Formula Pilota China with KCMG last year, will also represent the Hong Kong-based motorsport group in Shanghai. Wells is keen to finish on top of the podium; as well as help the team secure crucial championship points.

Shanghai-based Swiss driver Thomas Luedi and JK Racing Asia Series graduate Mahaveer Raghunathan will also compete for Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG in Formula Masters’ much-anticipated finale. With four cars on the Asian Formula series’ starting grid, the team is aiming for a victorious weekend in Shanghai.

Thomas Luedi, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG Driver: “I am very much looking forward to my first race weekend in Formula Masters China Series with KCMG. It’s great to be racing again on Shanghai International Circuit, which I personally consider my “home” circuit. While it’s a technically demanding track, I enjoy it very much and have good memories of it from my AFR races earlier this year.”

Akash Nandy, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG Driver: “Its great to be coming back to Shanghai once again for Formula Masters’ title-deciding round. This is an amazing venue and I am looking forward to get back in the car since we had a long break after our last race in Malaysia. We will be looking to keep our momentum from Sepang and I will definitely be pushing hard this weekend.”

Mahaveer Raghunathan, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG Driver: “I am excited to race in Formula Masters with KCMG this weekend. It is a new challenge for me and will certainly be an unforgettable outing. I’m very eager to meet everyone and to work with the team in Shanghai.”

Dan Wells, Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG Driver: I’m hugely excited to rejoin KCMG and compete in Formula Masters in Shanghai. It’s been a while since I’ve been in a Formula car but physically I am in the best shape I have ever been. I’ve no doubt the team will give me a car which will allow me to challenge for victories. I’d like to thank KCMG and my other partners for this opportunity.”

John O’Hara, KCMG Deputy Managing Director: “We are anticipating a very busy weekend ahead of us but nonetheless, the team are very eager to return and compete in Shanghai. Hopefully, we will be victorious in all three rounds. I am confident that with Akash, Dan, Thomas and Mahaveer, we will maintain the strong form that we’ve achieved all season.”
