KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) heads to Malaysia this week for the title-deciding finale of Asian Le Mans Series at Sepang International Circuit, with the team leading the championship on 68 points. In line with this, the international motorsport group has officially announced that Tsugio Matsuda will share driving duties with LMP2 points leader James Winslow in KCMG’s final push to claim the Asian Le Mans crown on December 8.

Having led KCMG to Asian Le Mans victories in Inje and Fuji, James Winslow currently sits on top of the drivers’ standings with 68 points. Meanwhile, former Formula Nippon champion Tsugio Matsuda has also been part of KCMG’s Le Mans Prototype campaign this year. The Super Formula and Super GT frontrunner represented the team in WEC – 6 Hours of Fuji in October.

Winslow and Matsuda will share KCMG’s #18 Morgan-Nissan prototype on Sepang’s 5.543km Formula 1 circuit. With 25 points up for grabs, the team is looking to secure the Asian Le Mans title and drivers championship this weekend. As part of the prize, the winning LMP2 team will also be awarded an invitation to compete in the prestigious French endurance classic, Le Mans 24 Hours next year.

Tsugio Matsuda, KCMG Asian Le Mans Driver: “It is an honor to compete for KCMG in this crucial Asian Le Mans finale. I had a great time working with the team during the 6 Hours of Fuji in October, which is why I’m excited to represent them again this time in Sepang alongside James. Once again, I’d like to thank Paul Ip and Ryuji Doi for giving me this opportunity. I’m looking forward to the race and see you all in Sepang!”

James Winslow, KCMG Asian Le Mans Driver: “I’m very happy to be driving for KCMG again and looking forward to the pending championship fight. With such a great prize on offer for the champions, it’s looking like a great showdown. KCMG are a great team and I would like to help bring to them the Asian Le Mans title. For this final race, I’m sure that we will once again show winning form in Sepang”

Paul Ip, KCMG Managing Director: “We’ve come a long way and Sepang will be the final push for this season. The team is looking forward to this title-deciding finale and our aim is to win. James has done a superb job throughout the season and we’re also pleased to have Matsuda-san race for us in Sepang. I believe that their ability, complemented with the great crew that we have, will help us achieve our ultimate victory in Asian Le Mans.”
