The Oreca-Nissan 03R # 47 KC Motorgroup Ltd (KCMG) discusses the weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans with high hopes of victory in the LMP2 class after signing tonight (June 12) the seventh fastest time the qualifying session at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

Just one second separated the clock directed by Alexandre Imperatori that of the LMP2 pole. This result highlights the potential of the prototype he shares with Richard Bradley and Matt Howson, and demonstrates that the trio has the pace required to compete with other leaders in the category Saturday. In addition, all the teams participating in the Championship FIA World Endurance (WEC), the Chinese art structure in second position on the grid. And while the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the only event calendar WEC where points count double.

KCMG ranked third after the first part of qualifying played Wednesday night before falling in the standings during the remaining sessions the next day. Played at dusk, the two sessions were marred by incidents and other interruptions. At 20 minutes from time, Imperatori was about to give everything to win the pole position at the wheel of a road car with new tires and very light on fuel. Alas, a new neutralization ruined attempt Switzerland, preventing enhance its brand.

However, KCMG had two days running carefree and, given its excellent intrinsic rhythm, the team remains confident about his chances to make more impression racing Saturday and Sunday.

Richard Bradley:  “We were unlucky in qualifying because every time we take the track to sign a competitive time, an accident occurred on the plot! This is part of motorsport, but our final ranking does not reflect our true potential. However, the advantage with a 24-hour race is that anything can happen. Can jump past and still make a good comeback. Suffice to say that I do not worry too much for me this weekend. “

Matt Howson:  “In fact, we are slightly disappointed to finish seventh after playing constantly in the third or fourth position these past two days. Many red flags and other areas with low speed [Slow Zones] have probably prevented us to find the ideal settings for these qualifications. However, we know that we will be successful in race trim. Ultimately, it is the factor that matters most in a 24 hour race. So yes, we would have liked us jump a little higher on the grid but we now concentrate fully on the race. “

Alex Imperatori:  “I would say that we are satisfied even if we could have qualified higher up the grid. After the last accident, I was not really able to attack at the end. Without it, we would have flown in the first four, or in those waters. However, the race remains the appointment the most important, and on this point, we are more than well-versed. The car ran like clockwork and was also posted excellent performances. We can approach the weekend with full confidence. “

Bradley, Howson and Imperatori part tomorrow afternoon at the famous Le Mans Drivers Parade and circulate in the streets of downtown the city Sarthe. A popular event held in front of the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans which will start on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. local time.
