KC Motorgroup Ltd.’s (KCMG) Japanese Motorsport Division is primed for Super Formula’s third event after more than a month’s hiatus from the highly competitive single seater series. The team, together with Yuichi Nakayama, returns to the scenic foothills of Mount Fuji on July 12-13 to tackle the championship’s latest round after two mixed outings earlier this season.

Aimed at making significant headway in his blue and white Toyota-powered Dallara SF14, the Japanese driver is set for another intense round which will comprise of 55 laps on Fuji’s 4.563km high speed circuit. After demonstrating strong race pace in Super Formula’s two-race event in May, Nakayama is keen to challenge for a strong result this weekend.

Yuichi Nakayama: “The month-long break has given me time to physically prepare and regroup after two encouraging outings in Suzuka and Fuji. We’ve shown that we have competitive pace and I’ve been looking forward to get back in the car. The team is confident that we’ll be able to deliver strong results and hopefully finish towards the front of the field this weekend.”

Ryuji Doi, KCMG Japan General Manager: “We’re looking forward to race after the series’ brief interval. The team has been very productive as we had the chance to further develop the car. Also, Yuichi had the opportunity to complete some test sessions with our JF3 driver Shohei Yuzawa at Okayama during the break. We return to Fuji with confidence and we’re hoping to conclude the event this weekend with positive results.”
