KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is eyeing Super Formula’s fifth event with renewed optimism as the team returns to Japanese formula racing’s most competitive grid at Autopolis Circuit on September 14. Yuichi Nakayama is determined to be in strong form in the #18 Dallara SF14 after a trying weekend at Motegi last month.

The 2013 Japanese Formula 3 champion is aiming to complete the 46-lap challenge on Autopolis’ undulating 4.674km configuration in the championship points. The series’ fifth round is considered to be one of the most technically demanding races on the Super Formula calendar.  Apart from raw pace, effective fuel management strategy will be key this weekend, as teams will not be allowed to refuel during pit stops throughout the 220km race.

Yuichi Nakayama: “I’ve been looking forward to this event as Autopolis is one of the most challenging circuits in Japan. I’ve raced on this track before, but to be in a Super Formula car will be a completely new experience for me. We will be pushing hard and I’ll do my best to deliver strong results this weekend.”

Ryuji Doi, KCMG Japan General Manager: “We head to Autopolis with confidence and after our rigorous preparations for this weekend’s event, we’re expecting a strong performance.”
