Following their class dominance in the Middle East, KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is primed to seal FIA World Endurance Championship’s (WEC) 2014 season on a high note. The Hong Kong-based outfit is en route to South America for the series’ eighth and final round at Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, formerly known as Interlagos Circuit, this weekend.

The 6 Hours of Sao Paulo will witness the trio of Richard Bradley, Matt Howson and Alexandre Imperatori share driving duties in the #47 Oreca 03R – Nissan shod with Dunlop tyres for the World Championship’s much anticipated season finale. After seven closely contested races around the world, the team is looking forward to their maiden outing on Brazil’s 4.309km Formula 1 circuit.

Apart from tough opposition, the Asian squad will face a new challenge with the track’s unique and highly technical configuration coupled with the soaring ambient temperatures at Interlagos. Currently sitting third in the LMP2 team classification, KCMG is keen on concluding the year with its third class victory in their first full season competing in WEC.

Richard Bradley: “I’m very excited about this race. It’s my first time competing on Sao Paulo’s F1 circuit, so I’ve got quite a lot to learn. The conditions will be similar to Austin and Bahrain in terms of heat, which is something that we’ve confidently dealt with. After our fantastic performance in the Middle East, we can look forward to a strong result this weekend.”

Matt Howson: “We head to Sao Paulo this week aiming to win our third race in what has been an impressive debut season against tough competition. The Brazilian race will be tough, with high temperatures and a physical anti-clockwise layout to add to the challenge. But as long as we perform as we did in Bahrain, we have every chance to finish 2014 with a victory”

Alexandre Imperatori: “We are going to Interlagos looking at capitalising on our momentum from the Bahrain win a fortnight ago. Even though the championship is now out of reach, we want to sign off in style with another win. As always, the competition will be fierce but we have a strong package and the team keeps on improving and learning.”

Paul Ip, KCMG Managing Director: “After an impressive first season competing as the only Asian LMP2 outfit in WEC, the team is aiming to bring down the curtain on the championship’s 2014 season with another victory. As we head to one of motorsport’s most iconic venues in South America, we’d like to seal this season by putting Asia on top of the podium once more this year.”

Track action at Interlagos begins on Friday with two Free Practice sessions taking place at 13:00 and 17:30 local. Final practice will be held on Saturday at 10:00 to be followed by Qualifying at 14:45. FIA WEC’s culminating race of the season gets underway at 13:00 the next day.
