KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) travels to the magnificent Ardennes Forest for the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship on May 2. The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps signals the #47 ORECA 05 – Nissan’s maiden outing on the legendary 7.004km circuit, which is known for its challenging configuration.

After the encouraging race debut of the new ORECA LMP2 coupe at Silverstone last month, the Chinese squad is primed for another challenge and is looking to deliver strong results at Spa. LMP virtuoso Nicolas Lapierre is set for his WEC return in Belgium and will share driving duties with Richard Bradley and Matt Howson in the World Championship’s second six-hour round.

Following a three-week interlude after WEC’s thrilling opening event in the United Kingdom, the Dunlop-shod #47 ORECA 05 – Nissan is committed to fight for the top spot in the LMP2 class. Considered as the ‘dress rehearsal’ for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will hold three free practice sessions ahead of the 25-minute LMP qualifying run on Friday. The 6-hour race will start at 14h30 local on Saturday.

Richard Bradley: “I’m very much looking forward to going back to Spa. We had a good time there last year, where we secured pole position and finished on the podium. I look forward to racing there again and to give it our all this year. It was good to get the experience from Silverstone and I’m sure we can build on that. With the ORECA 05, I believe that we can deliver a very competitive performance at Spa.”

Matt Howson: “Silverstone was an encouraging debut for the ORECA 05 and this part of the season is all about getting up to speed with a new car. We had an excellent result last year at Spa and we expect to be more competitive this year in an even tougher field. With Nico Lapierre joining Richard and I, we’re confident that we’ll be up to the task!”

Nicolas Lapierre: “I very much enjoyed driving the car at Paul RIcard, so I look forward to be back in and to race at Spa. It will be a tough fight, but the team has learned a lot from Silverstone. The car is still very new but I’m sure it has the potential to perform. More than anything, it’s good to be back.”

Erich Kolb, KCMG WEC Team Manager: “Competing in Spa with the new LMP2 will be an interesting challenge for the team and we are looking forward to it with confidence. We have been working hard since the Silverstone round, making sure that we are well prepared for this event. The team is also happy to have Nico join Richard and Matt and with this strong line-up, the team is keen to challenge for top results”
