KCMG MAKES FINAL N24 PREPARATIONS AT NLS 5

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) makes its final preparations for the Nürburgring 24 Hours this weekend during round five of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS, previously VLN).

The Hong Kong squad impressed in its first two series outings in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, having finished as the best of the German marque’s cars during the previous two races and led during the early stages of NLS 4. This weekend’s six-hour race is a landmark event on the 2020 NLS calendar and is the last round before the Nürburgring 24 Hours next month.

KCMG fields a line-up of four Porsche factory drivers in the #18 car, with Romain Dumas and Dennis Olsen racing alongside the returning Richard Lietz and Patrick Pilet, both winners of the 2018 24 Hours with Porsche.

Meanwhile, Josh Burdon and Edoardo Liberati continue in the #19 Porsche, with six-time Nürburgring 24 Hours competitor Alexandre Imperatori completing the line-up having run in the sister car at the previous round.

The 90-minute qualifying session begins at 08:30 CET, before the six-hour race at noon.

Patrick Pilet, #18 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “This weekend we will have all four drivers in the #18 car, which should be a really important part of our preparation so it will be interesting to see our pace. I love this track and the atmosphere in the team, and I am hoping for a great result.”

Romain Dumas, #18 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “It’s great to be back with KCMG. This is another important step in our journey towards the 24 Hours and the fact that this weekend is a longer race means it will be the ideal preparation. We are improving step by step and I’m convinced that will continue this weekend.”

Dennis Olsen, #18 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “I’m really excited to be back at the Nürburgring with KCMG, as this will be our final race before the 24 Hours. Therefore, it’s a very important weekend for us where we can look to work on a variety of aspects. A lot of effort has been made in the background to get ready for such a race and I’m sure it will pay off on track.”

Richard Lietz, #18 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “We can’t wait to see the steps that we have taken as a team. The car had great balance in the last test, so I’m looking forward to getting some more laps under my belt and finding my rhythm.”

Alexandre Imperatori, #19 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “I think the package is good and getting better all the time, so I hope we can fine tune everything before the 24 Hours. It is a six-hour race and we really want a strong performance for the team, who have been doing a tremendous job.”

Josh Burdon, #19 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “This is our last race before the 24 Hours and I’m looking forward to it. As a team, we are becoming stronger with each event and we’re all eager to get back in the car.”

Edoardo Liberati, #19 Porsche 911 GT3 R: “I’m already feeling confident in the Porsche after the first few rounds, and this is just another chance to test and develop the car. We are improving on our side and looking forward to getting everything ready for the big race.”

Paul Ip, KCMG Founder: “The Nürburgring 24 Hours is just around the corner and we are now making our final preparations for this landmark event. Our progress since joining forces with Porsche has been really impressive and I am just hoping to see more of that this weekend. This race should prove the ideal preparation for the 24 Hours.”
