Kids com Team KCMG is targeting a positive result as the 2023 Super Formula season kicks off this weekend with a double-header at Fuji Speedway.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Hong Kong outfit retains its talented driver line-up of 2016 series champion Yuji Kunimoto and ex-F1 driver Kamui Kobayashi as it looks to build on a strong pre-season test that saw the team finish top of Day 2.<\/p>\n

The event sees the introduction of the brand-new Dallara SF23 aerodynamic package. Compared to its predecessor, the car produces less downforce, which is expected to promote more overtaking. Yokohama Rubber is also implementing a new carbon neutral tyre made up of 33% recycled and renewable raw materials.<\/p>\n

Fuji Speedway is one of Asia\u2019s most well-renowned circuits, hosting Formula 1 as recently as 2008. The 4.563-kilometre track boasts 16 corners and is famous for its 1.475-kilometre home straight, which is one of the longest at any FIA Grade 1 circuit worldwide.<\/p>\n

The season-opening double header will take place on 8-9 April.<\/p>\n

#7 KAMUI KOBAYASHI<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cThis weekend is incredibly important for Kids com Team KCMG as it\u2019ll be the first time that we race the new SF23. Everyone is working hard so that we can understand the car and get the maximum out of it after a good test at Suzuka.\u201d<\/p>\n

#18 YUJI KUNIMOTO<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cFuji has always been a track I enjoy, but in recent years I\u2019ve not been able to get the results I\u2019d like to, however, the new car gives me a great opportunity to change that. Testing was positive, I managed to gather plenty of data which should give me a solid baseline to start the campaign from.\u201d<\/p>\n

TSUGIO MATSUDA<\/strong> TEAM MANAGER<\/h4>\n

\u201cThis weekend will be our first opportunity to assess our understanding of the new Dallara SF23\u2019s aerodynamics. Throughout the pre-season test at Suzuka the car performed well and we were happy with the data gathered. I also want to give credit to Tetsuya Tanaka, he worked really well with the team in his new role as Race Manager throughout testing, I believe he can be a positive addition to our group.\u201d<\/p>\n

RYUJI DOI<\/strong> KCMG HEAD OF MOTORSPORT<\/h4>\n

\u201cThe season-opener is a double-header, so that gives us twice the opportunity to lay solid foundations for the campaign and pick up some points. There is a raft of technical changes coming in this year, Yokohama Rubber is bringing in carbon neutral tyres, and Dallara has developed a new aero package, so that means this year could be a clean slate for everyone. We had a very promising pre-season, so hopefully we can be one of the teams that makes a positive step!\u201d<\/p>\n
