KIDS COM TEAM KCMG LOOKING TO BUILD ON PERFORMANCE AT SPORTSLAND SUGO

Kids com Team KCMG is aiming to continue its positive trajectory as it targets a first podium finish of the 2025 Super Formula season during Round 8 at Sportsland SUGO.

Now in the second half of the campaign, the Hong Kong-based squad has scored points in every event this season, taking two fourth-place finishes in the most recent double-header at Fuji Speedway. The results see Kamui Kobayashi sit 10th in the Drivers’ Championship, narrowly ahead of team-mate Nirei Fukuzumi, who is 12th. Meanwhile, the outfit is currently sixth in the Teams’ Championship, knowing that a good weekend could see them jump up to as high as fourth.

Kobayashi has good memories with the team at Sportsland SUGO, taking second place there back in 2019. The circuit has been ever-present on the calendar of Japan’s leading single-seater championship since 1987. The 3.804-kilometre track features a very technical opening half of the lap, with tricky medium speed corners before a flowing second part, which is finished off by the 110R corner that slingshots the cars back onto the home straight.

Saturday’s Free Practice begins at 09:00 local time (UTC+8), ahead of qualifying at 14:00. FP2 on Sunday kicks off at 09:30, before lights go out for the race at 14:20.
