KIDS COM TEAM KCMG COMPLETES SOLID SUPER FORMULA POST-SEASON TEST

Kids com Team KCMG finished off the 2025 Super Formula season last week at Suzuka International Racing Course with three of days of testing, racking up plenty of laps and competitive times.

Current Super GT500 champion Kenta Yamashita enjoyed a strong opening day, setting the third fastest time of the day in the afternoon, after finishing the morning session in sixth.

Meanwhile his teammate, Kalle Rovanperä, took part in the first session but experienced symptoms of Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo during the break and sat out the remainder of the test.

Super Formula rookie Tokiya Suzuki would step up to take Rovanperä’s place in the #8 car on Day 2, adding to his initial duties of doing the Rookie Test for the outfit, completing 53 laps.

Yamashita once again delivered a positive performance, ensuring a pair of sixth place finishes across the second day.

The final day of the test saw 13 rookies take to the track with Suzuki enjoying a strong showing, managing to secure the second quickest time during the Rookie Test and the sixth best of the overall test.

Super Formula returns on 4-5 April for a double-header to kick off the 2026 season at Mobility Resort Motegi.

KENTA YAMASHITA

“This was my first time working with Kids com Team KCMG and it was very positive. I had to adapt to the team’s testing process and was able to try out several set ups over the two days. We achieved some great lap times and overall I think it was a useful test for both me and the squad.”

TOKIYA SUZUKI

“I was originally scheduled to drive for just the Rookie Test but got the chance to take part on Day 2, due to Kalle being unwell. The Super Formula car is on a completely different level to what I’ve driven up until now. I gained a lot of valuable experience and was able to finish with a very competitive time on fresh tyres. I would like to thank everyone who gave me this valuable opportunity.”

KALLE ROVANPERÄ

“During Wednesday’s break I got symptoms of Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, which affects balance and vision through the inner ear. Due to this, I was banned by the doctor to drive for the remainder of the test. I’m really disappointed as we didn’t have the chance to do any proper driving, other than our aero test in the morning. It’s bad luck to have this on our first outing. Now it’s time to heal up and I can only wait for the next time.”
