KCMG returns to Japanese Formula 3 in 2012

It was an eventful 2011 season on Japanese race circuits for KCMG. The team, which won races in 2008, 2009 and 2011, has announced that they will once again run cars in the Japanese Formula 3 National class for the 2012 season.

The team returns this year with a more aggressive campaign as they compete head on, eyeing more race wins and podium finishes throughout the series.

The Japanese Championship is one of the most anticipated racing categories in Formula 3. This series will comprise of sixteen races over seven weekends on six different circuits- five of which shall take place in Japan, with one event to go down in Zhuhai, China. This marks the first Japanese Formula 3 event to be held outside Japan. More so, the KCMG team is eagerly looking forward to this event as it shall take place near its headquarters in Hong Kong.

Team Manager Ryuji Doi states, “Once again, we are very happy to continue running cars in Japanese Formula 3. We are very excited and we are anxiously waiting for the testing to get underway for the year ahead. We have proven that we are a very competitive team in the past seasons and we continue to move towards our objective, which is to succeed in securing the championship.”

The Japanese Formula 3 championship’s inaugural race for 2012 will set off on April 13 and 14 at the world famous Suzuka Formula 1 Circuit. Pre-season testing will begin later this month while announcement of drivers will be posted soon at www.kcmg.com.hk.
