KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) faced another challenging weekend as Shohei Yuzawa wrapped up Rounds 10 and 11 of the All-Japan Formula 3 Championship at Twin Ring Motegi. Following two trying races on Motegi’s 4.801km circuit, the Japanese driver currently sits fifth in the National Class standings.

The Hong Kong-based team delivered encouraging results on Saturday after Yuzawa displayed competitive pace in dry conditions. The Japanese driver went on to qualifying and secured P2 and P3 after the two 10-minute sessions.

Round 10 saw the Japanese driver get off to a good start from the front row of the grid and defended his position from opponents for several laps. Unfortunately, a collision with Tairoku Yamaguchi sent Yuzawa into the gravel, which ultimately caused his retirement on Lap 7.

The final race of the weekend saw the #19 Dallara F308 start from third place on the grid. In extreme dry conditions, Yuzawa struggled to hold on to his position and finished the 20-lap race in fourth place.

Shohei Yuzawa: “It was a tough weekend and the team strived hard to gain good results during the two races. Unfortunately, lady luck was not on our side and we were unable to get a podium this weekend. It’s disappointing but our focus now is to come back stronger at Sugo next month.”

Ryuji Doi, KCMG Japan General Manager: “It’s been a challenging weekend for us at Motegi, but the team remains positive as we saw that the car is competitive in terms of pace during qualifying. We have two more events left in the season and we’ll continue to work hard to score more points in the championship.”
