KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) has revealed their plan to establish an Asian-based karting team, which will provide aspiring young talents an introduction to the Hong Kong-based outfit’s extensive motorsport development programme.

The campaign will be the latest addition to KCMG’s rapidly expanding motorsport division, which has taken the team to various levels of motor racing disciplines – from Formula Masters China Series, Japanese Formula 3, Super Formula to FIA World Endurance Championship, to name a few.

The main thrust of the programme is to provide young drivers with appropriate management and guidance in motorsport’s introductory platform, through KCMG’s participation in the Rotax Max Challenge Asia in 2015. The Hong Kong-based outfit is looking to field two karts per category in the Asian series’ six-event calendar. In addition, to further extend the opportunity to more young drivers across the region, the team is also considering taking part in the Singapore Karting Championship.

Paul Ip, KCMG Managing Director: “Our entry into karting is exciting on many levels as we will be nurturing new talent in motorsport’s most rudimentary level. More so, we are once again widening our development programme to accommodate younger drivers who want to be part of this highly competitive sport. It is exciting to see KCMG expand in such a motivating way for Asian motorsport’s young blood.”

As part of the Hong Kong-based outfit’s motorsport development programme, the KCMG Scholarship will be available to successful young drivers produced by the Karting campaign at the end of the season, with full details to be announced soon.
