KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is looking forward to set its LMP2 programme in motion in the Le Mans 24 Hours and FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) this season. During the French endurance classic and world championship’s press conference today in Paris, it was confirmed that the Chinese LMP2 team, represented by Matt Howson, will field its brand new Oreca 05.

This is the third straight year that KCMG has been granted entry by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) to take part in the prestigious endurance race. After making motorsport history as the first Chinese team to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours and FIA WEC in 2013, KCMG has been consistently setting milestones in the sphere of Le Mans prototype racing.

Following a breakthrough season in FIA WEC in 2014, the Chinese outfit is primed for another thrilling year in the LMP2 category. This season, the World Endurance Championship’s LMP2 class highlights a competitive 10-car entry, while the Le Mans 24 Hours will see 20 prototypes line up on La Sarthe’s P2 grid in June.

Paul Ip, KCMG Founder: “It’s always been a great honour to represent Asia in the Le Mans 24 Hours and FIA WEC. Following the debut of our LMP2 campaign in 2013, we proved that we are one of the LMP2 teams to watch in 2014. This year will bring new challenges: with a new car, new set of regulations and more competition in the field! The 2015 season will surely be exciting and interesting. The team is already busy with pre-season preparations and more updates about our LMP2 campaign will be announced soon.”
