Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG has confirmed the initial driver line up for their 2015 Formula Masters campaign. Star Racing Academy graduates Zheng Shang Guan and Ye Jun Hui (Jeffrey) will represent the Hong Kong-based outfit as they once again contend for the top regional entry-level Formula series’ crown this year. As Formula Masters continue to gain ground in the sphere of Asian motorsport, Star Racing Academy is keen to further develop their novices’ skill in such a highly competitive platform under Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG’s tutelage.
17-year-old Zheng Shang Guan started racing karts in 2012 and has consistently finished various championships, including the POLO Cup Shanghai, CFGP Shanghai and Elite Race Shanghai, in the top three. Meanwhile 18-year-old Ye Hun Hui first dabbled in motorsport in 2007 and competed in junior and senior karting championships across Asia. He won the 2009 Asia Karting Championship Rotax Junior in Macau and went on to win in the Hong Kong Kart Club race for two consecutive seasons.
Zheng Shang Guan: “It is a privilege to be part of such a successful team and I’m very happy to represent Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG in Formula Masters this season. During the pre-season tests, the team was very hands on and it was a very constructive time for me as driver. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and in return, I will do my best to deliver strong results for the team throughout the season.”
Yu Hun Hui: “It is an honour to represent Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG! I’m very excited to compete in Formula Masters as it’s a big step forward for me. I’m primed for this new challenge and I’m looking forward to contribute to the team’s success this season.”
