TEAM KCMG FIELDS KOBAYASHI, FUKUZUMI AND GAMOU AS NLS RETURNS

Team KCMG is all set to tackle the sixth round of the 2026 Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie season this weekend, naming an all-Japanese trio for the four-hour enduro.

NLS6 will be the first competitive action for the Hong-Kong outfit at the Nordschleife since the Nürburgring 24 Hours, where the squad were running as high as fourth in the opening hours.

Nirei Fukuzumi comes into this event fresh off his impressive SUPER FORMULA victory at Suzuka, where he dominated from pole position to score maximum points.

Current SUPER GT300 champion Naoya Gamou also continues in the #47 Mercedes-AMG alongside Fukuzumi, after both drivers competed for KCMG in the Nürburgring 24 Hours last month.

Completing the trio is ex-Formula 1 driver Kamui Kobayashi, who will head to the Green Hell after taking a superb victory in the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans last weekend.

Qualifying for NLS6 begins on Saturday from 08:30 local time (UTC+2), with lights out for the four-hour enduro at 12:00.

KAMUI KOBAYASHI

“I’m looking forward to racing with KCMG again after an enjoyable experience at NLS3. I’ll aim to keep on improving in GT3 machinery around the Nordschleife. This is another great opportunity to continue the learning process around this iconic circuit. With an all-Japanese line-up, we’re hopeful that we can have a positive weekend.”

NIREI FUKUZUMI

“I’m happy to return to the Nürburgring after a tough N24. I didn’t have many chances to run last time, so gaining experience will be very important at NLS6. I can’t wait to be back with the team and race at this incredible track again!”

NAOYA GAMOU

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to compete in NLS again with KCMG. I’ll give it everything to develop my driving on the Nordschleife and continue to improve as a driver.”

MATT HOWSON TEAM MANAGER

“After a difficult Nürburgring 24 Hours, we’re delighted to be back at NLS6 and with such an exciting driver line-up in Kamui, Nirei and Naoya. It will be a valuable weekend in terms of experience for the KCMG team and the drivers, and we are targeting a strong result.”

PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER

“As we begin the second half of the season, our ambitions remain high. We are proud to field an all-Japanese line-up featuring Kamui Kobayashi, fresh from his fantastic victory at Le Mans, alongside Nirei Fukuzumi and Naoya Gamou. The Nürburgring is one of the most demanding circuits in the world and provides the perfect environment for our drivers and team to continue developing. We look forward to a strong weekend and to building momentum for the remainder of the season.”
