SGC by KCMG geared up for opening round of Japanese F3

SGC by KCMG is looking forward to the 2012 season of Japanese Formula 3 which opens this weekend at Suzuka Circuit.

The team wrapped up two weeks of successful testing with Irish driver Gary Thompson, in preparation for the Japanese championship’s upcoming season.

Thompson’s impressive performance during testing at Motegi, Fuji and Suzuka has assured the team that securing the National Championship will be its primary goal. The team was satisfied with testing results that Thompson delivered, stating that testing went extremely well.

Returning from his impressive 2011 season in Japanese Formula 3, Thompson will drive a Toyota powered Dallara F308 – as the team continues with the support of long term backers, Aviation Display, Achievement, Cebu Pacific Air and BAM Motorsport Promotions. Smartlamp, Polish manufacturer of energy saving street lamp ballasts, will also back the Irish driver in his 2012 racing campaign.

Thompson talked about his experience during the past two weeks of testing on multiple circuits in Japan, “Testing had gone extremely well. We’ve gained an understanding of the new car and I am confident that we can be at the front.”

KCMG Japan General Manager, Ryuji Doi expressed the same sentiment, “Gary and the entire team did a very impressive job. Testing went very well and I am pleased with the results. SGC by KCMG’s goal is to win the National Championship and I am positive that we are off to a good start.”

The first round of Japanese Formula 3 will be held at Suzuka Circuit this weekend.
