KCMG heads to Shanghai for Formula Pilota China Season Opener

KCMG looks forward to its highly anticipated first season in Formula Pilota China, as the team and Dan Wells gears up for the opening round of the international racing series which will be held at Shanghai International Circuit on June 16-17.

Following the successful Formula Abarth series in Europe, Formula Pilota China will be another platform for drivers across the globe to develop their career in contemporary racing cars.

Wells emerged with positive results during last month’s testing at Zhuhai International Circuit in China. The English driver easily adjusted to the turbocharged Fiat powered Formula Abarth car which he sampled at Zhuhai’s 4.3 km circuit.

Next week, the driver’s skill and endurance will once again be tested as he races against other up and coming drivers from all over the world at the challenging circuit in Shanghai. The 5.4 km circuit, which has hosted Formula 1 races since 2004, boasts of a combination of highly technical low speed sections and two very high speed straights.

Wells, who is backed by Visa Global Logistics, is thrilled to be competing in Asia and to be part of the prestigious Asian championship. Wells states “I’m really looking forward to racing with KCMG in my first ever race in Asia, taking place at Shanghai International Circuit. Our pre-season preparations have gone well and I am sure that we are going to be fighting for victories. I have to thank VISA Global Logistics Group, BAM Motorsports Group and everyone else who has supported me over the winter, whom without I would not have had this opportunity. I cannot wait to get our championship under way!”

KCMG’s Managing Director Paul Ip expressed his satisfaction over Wells performance in Zhuhai and is looking forward to podium finishes in the upcoming events, “The team and I are confident that victory is possible in Shanghai. We have a very competitive driver representing us and I am very pleased with the results that Dan has been delivering since he came and tested for the team.”

Drivers are up for the great challenge ahead of them as the championship grants a four day evaluation at the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy to the overall and Asian Driver Class Champions.
